A kids clothing aisle is full of cartoon tees, some synthetic party sets, bright flashy co-ords and basic jeans. The assumption is that because a child outgrows everything, their clothes should be disposable.

A very mathematical explanation is that a fast-fashion, cheaper priced shirt fades in three washes - it's one you'll buy three times a season. Divide price by wears, and the well-made piece usually wins.
Premium isn't paying more. It's paying once.
Apart from that typical explanation, we at Zumi believe that fabric isn't a style choice. In Indian climate, it's a huge factor of comfort. Natural fibres like linen, breathe. When you choose fabric for a small person, you choose what sits against their skin for twelve hours a day, when they’re jumping on sofas, munching on their favourite snacks and also enjoying an outdoors run.
"They'll outgrow it" is an argument for buying well. A garment made cheaply ends up going out of your house just as fast as it got into your house. One made well gets handed down, passed on or even kept for the next child! Outgrowing isn't waste - premium clothes are built to have a second life.
A very negative approach is that premium belongs to a certain kind of family in a certain kind of big city. It doesn't. A toddler in a smaller town has the same skin, the same heat, the same right to a shirt that doesn't itch. Skin-safe, honestly-sized, well-made clothing shouldn't be a gate you need a high income to walk through. Such premium clothes, made at a reasonable price is the key to make your kids feel comfortable in their own ’skin’.
